Our condolences go out to Matthew Dowsley on the tragic loss of his Hanoverian stallion San José (Imp/Dec) (Sandro Hit/Rubinstein/Weltmeyer). San José was the 2009 Australian Novice Champion, 2009 Australian Elementary Champion, 2010 D&JWTS 6 Year Old Winner and Overall Champion of Champions, 2010 Sydney CDI 6 Year Old Dressage Champion. San José was purchased and imported to Australia as a two year colt by Matthew Dowsley from Bernd and Silvia Johannsen in Varrel, Germany. San José is a full sister to Sandro Dee (Imp) (Sandro Hit/Rubinstein/Weltmeyer), currently in Australia with owner rider Diana De-Silva. This is a huge loss, not only for Matthew Dowsley but for Australian Warmblood breeding.
