Blackhall Park Warmblood Stud
Stratford / VIC / Australia

Blackall Park Warmblood Stud is located in Stratford, Victoria and is owned and operated by Denis Crane and Susan Benko. Blackall Park Warmblood Stud commenced operation in the late 1980's, breeding dressage and show jumping horses. Most of Blackall Park's original breeding consisted of the Thoroughbred stallion Balmoral Boy xx (Resolution (NZ)/Gaudin) who was owned by the late Mr Alec McIntosh.

Together, Denis Crane and Alec McIntosh decided to look for a Warmblood stallion to use over their Balmoral Boy mares.  In 1989, Denis Crane purchased the Daktylus (Imp) (Diskus/Absatz) stallion, Daley K (Daktylus/Goldstern). Daley K was the first Australian bred foal by Kinnordy Stud in Queensland. Kinnordy Stud sold Daley K when he was three and he was later sold to Dennis Crane of Blackall Park Warmblood Stud.

Dennis Crane campaigned Daley K with considerable success in show jumping. Although Daley K was rejected by the licensing panel of the Australian Warmblood Horse Association (AWHA), he became one of the most successful sires of sport horses in Australia. Daley K has numerous highly performing progeny in dressage, show jumping and eventing, namely Warlord II (Daley K/Balmoral Boy xx) who was bred by Dennis Crane. Warlord II represented Australia at the 2007 Rolex FEI World Cup finals under Gavin Chester at Las Vegas in April, 2007. On his way to selection as an Australian representative, Warlord II won five consecutive World Cup Qualifiers. Progeny of Daley K have been exported abroad, to countries such as America, Canada, Japan and Korea.

Daley K  is best known for his show jumping progeny, but he has also sired top level dressage horses and several great eventers.  In September, 2008, Daley K received great attention for being the sire of War Wind (Daley K/Balmoral Boy xx), winning the prestigious Garryowen trophy at the Royal Melbourne Show in September of 2008, under Shae Hanger. War Wind, a highly successful show horse, is the first Warmblood winner of this famous event.
