Bluefields Warmblood Stud is located in Bindoon, Western Australia and is owned and operated by Lys and JJ Fuchs. Lys Fuchs (daughter of Otto Kocherhans) was an experienced breeder of performance horses in Germany and Switzerland, running her own horse breeding company in Switzerland as well as managing the annual Swiss Elite Foal Auction from 2000 to 2005. Lys Fuchs has also held executive committee positions with the Swiss Breeding Federation.

 

Lys and JJ Fuchs have brought their extensive breeding knowledge to Australia, operating as Bluefields Warmblood Stud and importing frozen semen for Australian Warmblood breeders as Horse Breeding Consultancy (HBC). Liz Fuchs is the official representative for the Oldenburger Breeder Society in Australia. Mares in the ACE Group Main Mare Studbook are eligible for upgrade to the Oldenburger Studbook (including progeny) if the mare is bred to an Oldenburger approved stallion. The mare may then receive the Oldenburger brand and Oldenburger birth certificate.

 

Bluefields Warmblood Stud imported the Baden-Württemburg stallion Bluefields Floreno (Imp) (Florencio/Roy Black) in 2008. Bluefields Floreno is currently in training with Elisabeth Beringer, a German bereiter (approved professional rider).
