GT Sporthorses is located in Christmas Creek, Queensland and is owned and operated by James Miller and Georgia Calvert. James attended The University of Queensland where he completed a Diploma in Applied Science (Equine Studies), majoring in horse management. After gaining his Diploma, James travelled to Germany for five years. His first year in Germany was spent training under the guidance of Peter Weston.
During his time with Peter and Kim Weston, James learnt the skill and detail of running a professional competition stable. After completing his training James was appointed as manager where he spent the next four years assisting in the training of horses up to international Grand Prix level. Upon his return to Australia, James became the manager of Goron Toron Stud owned by the late Tsunemoto Gotoh follwed by Belcam-Klatte Farm. Georgia Calvert operated Rayner Hill Farm in Clyde, Victoria with her mother Rayney Lindsay and has been the president of the Australian Warmblood Horse Association (AWHA), Victorian branch.
James and Georgia stand GT Jake (Exp) (Jazz/Aachen/Shiekie) and Klassik Pursuit (Purioso/Consolidate xx/Notorious xx). Klassik Pursuit was bred by Willy Knauss of Klassik Warmbloods in Wandin North, Victoria. They also stand Don Gold (Imp) (aka Don 288) (Donnerhall/Goldlack/Sinatra) and Sir Stirling (Stedinger/Contango II/Aachen) on behalf of Christine Doan.
Sir Stirling has been exported to Germany but is available via frozen semen through GT Sporthorses. In April 2011, GT Jake was sold to Royston Equine and was exported to New Zealand. You can view information on GT Jake through the Royston Equine Facebook profile.
