Kinnordy Stud is located in Cambooya, Queensland and is owned and operated by Holger and Melanie Schmorl. Holger and Melanie Schmorl migrated to Australia from Germany in 1983 and Kinnordy Stud was born. Holger Schmorl was president of the Hanoverian Horse Society of Australia from its foundation in 1993 until 2003.

 

Having been successful Warmblood breeders in Germany, Holger and Melanie Schmorl imported the mares St Pr St Wolfsangel (Wolfsburg/Absatz), Gold Song (Goldstern/Gotthard), Gina (Goldstein/Pik König) and the stallions Winterkönig (Imp/Dec) (Wörmann/Pik König) and Daktylus (Imp/Dec) (Diskus/Absatz).

 

Kinnordy Stud imported other stallions over time, including Graf Landau (Imp) (Genever/Wendekreis) in 1992, Gymnastik Star (Imp) (Glueckspilz/Calypso II) in 1998, River Dance (Imp) (Rubinstein/Atatürk) in 2002 and Danzante (Imp) (De Niro/Weltmeyer) in 2004. Stallions bred by Kinnordy Stud include Grand Ouverte (Graf Landau (Imp)/Winterkönig (Imp/Dec)) and Rivaldo (River Dance/Winterkönig). Grand Ouverte was the first non-imported stallion licensed by the Hanoverian Commission in Sydney, 1999. Kinnordy Stud bloodlines combine W, D, R and G lines.
